Whether it be your genetic makeup or the natural process of ageing, you may find stubborn fat pockets on certain areas of your body that simply refuse to budge, no matter how hard you try to tone them. In cases like this, you may wish to consider liposuction surgery, a popular cosmetic surgical procedure amongst men and women of all ages.

Dr. Rizk explains the Liposuction Procedure

Reshape Your Body With Liposuction

The Procedure

Liposuction involves making small incisions in the affected area and using a small thin tube (cannula) to dislodge and suction out localised fat deposits from the body. This procedure works because it removes fat cells permanently, leaving you with a svelte and well-proportioned silhouette.

After surgery, you may need to wear a compression garment for a few weeks for support and to reduce swelling and bruising. Because the incisions are so small, and usually hidden in the body’s natural creases, they should heal to become barely visible. After several months, swelling should fully subside, revealing your slimmer, firmer contours.

Liposuction is performed as a day operation, you will be given instructions to fast prior, and someone will need to take you home after the procedure and stay with you overnight.

Fat Transfer

Have you ever wished you could transfer unwanted fat from your abdomen, love handles, thighs or arms to your breasts / buttocks / face?

An exciting surgical technique – known as fat transfer or fat grafting – lets you do exactly this. The process of removing the fat from the first area is not achieved by traditional liposuction but uses a more involved technique so as not to destroy the fat cells in the body.

Put simply, it is completely natural and a great alternative for dermal fillers or surgical implants.
